Vishay Intertechnology AC03-CS Series Axial Cemented, Leaded Wir
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH) has announced a significant enhancement to its AC03-CS series of axial cemented, leaded wirewound safety resistors with the introduction of a new WSZ lead form. This development allows the resistors to be used as surface-mount components, thereby reducing assembly costs and time.
The AC03-CS series resistors are designed to act as inrush current limiters and are suitable for use in pre-charge, discharge, and snubber applications. The AEC-Q200 qualified resistors offer robust performance with a power rating of 3W at 40°C, a resistance range between 1? and 100? with a tolerance of ±5%, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +200°C.
These resistors are particularly applicable in the fields of automotive electronics, energy meters, and power supplies for both industrial drives and consumer appliances, providing protection against high DC voltage overloads and accidental AC mains voltage exposures. A standout feature of these resistors is their high surge voltage capability of up to 4kV, ensuring robust defense against electrical surges.
Furthermore, the AC03-CS series resistors feature a UL 94 V-0 compliant non-flammable silicone coating, which enhances safety by minimizing the risk of fire due to extreme electrical overloads, thus safeguarding other components and the printed circuit board (PCB).
Vishay Intertechnology is providing samples and production quantities of these resistors with WSZ lead forms, with a lead time of 12 weeks. These resistors are also RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and have tin-plated terminations that are compatible with both lead-free and lead-containing soldering processes.
